Administrative Professionals Conference
President's Pen
I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday season! I know I enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
For most of us, the semester has already begun, and I’m sure many of you are looking forward to a great spring. In addition to our daily work across the state, we have much to look forward to in our professional development lives. The SCCPA Administrative Professionals Workshop will be held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. And, our annual SCCPA Spring Conference will be held April 20-22, 2006 at the Francis-Marion Hotel in Charleston. I appreciate the tremendous amount of work that our conference chairs-Tiffany Coleman, Lynn Way, Eric Fisher, and Mac McArthur-are doing to provide excellent development and networking opportunities for each of us. Please take the time to carefully read the information about registration, lodging, and program submissions. We need your support of and attendance at these events to make them successful!
I also want to call your attention to the 2006-2007 SCCPA Board elections and appointments that will take place this spring. I encourage you to nominate yourself and/or your colleagues for these positions. Jason Cassidy, our Past-President, is coordinating the elections process, so please be in touch with him (jason.cassidy@furman.edu) with questions or nominations. I will be making appointments to numerous positions on the 2006-2007 board, so please let me know (bseagrav@presby.edu) if you are interested in serving. Our organization is only as strong as those people who choose to get involved. Please consider serving in the upcoming year.
I look forward to an exciting spring, where many of us will gather in Aiken and Charleston. In the meantime, consider your involvement in SCCPA and don’t hesitate to ask questions or offer feedback about your organization.
Sincerely,
Beau Seagraves
SCCPA President-Elect
